I witnessed a stock doing 158mph (top up) in 6th gear (~8K RPM). The 5th gear hit 9K at 146MPH (rev limiter has not cut-in yet). It took only 2 miles of open road from 70 -158MPH.

So, yes I believe it.

80mph on my speedo is reported as 75 or 76 on my GPS. It uses WAAS so it's acurate to about two meters, so I trust it.

What's the big deal? did 252KPH (156MPH) at 8200rpm, 6th gear, stock Stook, top up, high altitude - lean but cool air, was still going strong.
