How did you "test" it out? What were your test parameters?

test being driving in the city for 30 miles being on the highest gear possible with low rpm. hit a bunch of redlights , no stop-go-stop-go traffic , just regular city driving conditions.

When driving down to LA i got 200-220 miles per tank going non stop with 70-80 miles on 6th gear if that gives a better idea.

You were able to figure out exactly how much fuel (ie, 2 gallons) you used over a 30 mile stretch? How did you calculate the fuel used? This is not a very accurate way of determining your gas mileage.

To do it better, you must fill up, set your trip odo to ZERO, drive for a whole tank, note the miles travelled in that tankful, fill up exactly as you did before, note the gallons, then do the calculation. This will then be your city mileage or highway mileage or "combined" mileage if you are doing a bit of both.

I've got an 05 and my car is getting about the same. It gets very frustrating constantly having to stop to get gas. I drive to and from work and find myself using a 1/4 tank of gas just to get to work and back (40 mile overall trip). thats REALLY shitty and im certainly not getting more than 200 miles per tank, prob not even that. i did 2 full tank tests and both were done with NEVER hitting vtec. the highest i went was 5.5k and that was on the highway, on regular roads i didnt take it about 3.2k or so. im getting VERY pissed at this point.

so folks complaining are getting about 150 miles on a full tank? doesn't make sense even with the occasional vtec.
