I'm getting about 275 miles to the tank on my 05 that I picked up one week ago, about 21 mpg and I haven't been especially "gentle," so something's gotta be wrong with your car. That mpg looks more like number for full-size SUV!!

Possibly has to do with the break in procedures? How did you guys break in your cars?

thats not possible man, theres a gas mileage post on this site and nobody sees mileage that good. did they accidentally give you an s2k with an accord motor? most people arent seeing remotely close to that.

I am seeing about the same numbers as f1_fanz on a "good" tank, 250 - 275 miles per tank. I do remember getting just about 300 once, but that was gas up, hit the highway, and not stopping until my next tank, 300 miles later.

Was the engine warmed-up? Did you do your testing accurately? I would suggest testing through the entire tank, count the number of cold starts, also.

I don't think it's safe to assume that keeping the rpm's as low as possible will yield the best mpg. Especially in stop and go traffic, you may be bogging the engine quite a bit.

Here's some real world tests form 2 drivers (only 2? ) I can't see why more people don't keep track of this stuff. Sign up get more #'s in there for our S's

My driving this season so far 27MPG Sorry easy driving with recent shoulder surgery.

Per tank is useless, at what point are you filling up? I could drive around and say that I only get 1 mile per fill-up. Everyone knows that a gas gage is only a "GUESS GUAGE" LOL Use math and get your MPG's

Well, I don't know which fuel mileage post you're reading, but the last one I saw, there were plenty of folks, especially those with the '04/'05 models that were getting way better than that.

To date, my lowest mileage has been around 22.5. My normal local driving usually nets me between 24.5 and 25.5 mpg but that's not pure city driving. That usually include about 30 to 40% highway. Strictly highway cruising, I'm talking 70 to 75 mph with the AC on and the cruise control, I've yet to see lower than 29 and getting into the low 30's is not uncommon with favorable conditions.

S(teve)2000, if you're consistantly getting below 20 mpg, there's either something wrong with your car, or you're not driving as economically as you think you are. There's more to getting good gas mileage than just keeping the engine rpm's under some predetermined level. It doesn't matter if you're shifting at 4000 rpm's if you're foot's on the floor all the time anyway. I'm not saying that's what you're doing, I just offer it as an example.

FWIW!

monday to friday I get about 28 mpg, home to work to home = 60 miles with 56 miles high way.

Friday night to Sunday = 24 mpg... Going to Dragon, actually managed 21 mpg... guess I am not driving hard enough on the dragon...

My worst record was 19.8... First week with the car.. VTEC every gear and every chance i got...

I bought an '02 last spring with 20K miles showing. Last month I tried for the best mileage I could achieve in a 300+ mile interstate run. I made 31 mpg with the A/C on but keeping my speed down to 70 mph and staying out of the VTEC.

I'm trying to get a handle on city mileage but I don't drive the car daily so I haven't been through a tank of gas yet. It's probably evaporating faster than I'm burning it!
