I changed mine at about 3,500ml, about 2 weeks ago. I've been using Castral 10W30 to top it off, but I this time I tried Mobil and I like it. I also went ahead and changed out trany and diff fluid all the same time to full syntatic(hopfully they don't need anymore broken in).

Well, I use my car pretty hard. I VTEC every time I drive it. Not much stop and go though. I'd just as soon change it now (3000) as later (5K or 7K). My next question is - is there any advantage to keeping my oem oil in longer - special additives and whatnot. Also, is the Castrol 10-30 full synthetic? If so, why are you guys putting in synthetic before 10,000, as was mentioned earlier. Same for mobil. And what is a good oil filter? Fram?
Thanks - Mike

You should continue to use non-synthetic until you pass 12,000ml or so. Castral has the synthetic and non-synthatic in the same weight, and so the Mobil( Drive Clean).

As far as change the old oil out, if you drive in severe condition, you should change it out at around 3,700ml anyway(according to the manual), so don't worry about the addictive in the old oil that came with the car.
