Default The $2,000 S2000, will it ever happen?

Every car will depreciate in value. A 2013 Honda Accord cost $33,000. One day, it will cost $5,000. And then $2,000. Maybe even $750.

1. Do you think S2K will follow the trend of a "normal" car in term of depreciation?

2. Do you think there will ever be a "floor" amount? If so, what would that be?

it wont ever hit $2k because of the demand... that is if the car is in decent mechanical order, i mean missing parts, damage etc. sure there are $2k s2ks now.

Yeah as long as it is a complete running car I don't ever see it dropping to that price. Look at RX7's, supras, NSX's etc. Most of them are limited numbers and while some of the much much older ones can be found for that price they are generally money pits. I am sure you will see some drop down that low but they will have serious problems.

I've also wondered about this, but I just don't see that happening.

Always outliers, but-
Generally no, because:
1) the "floor" on prices for convertibles is always higher.
2) scarcity (supply and demand)
3) "expensive" cars become "cheap" cars-look at old Porsche 924, 944, 80's Jaguar, etc., because of their expensive parts and because they are service intensive

I don't think it will ever drop down that low. Becasue 10 years from now its probably going to be tough to find an S2k in good working order. Like mentioned before no one wants to buy a money pit unless they want a project car or something.

Doubt it. It's hard to even find a car for $2000 now a days

I don't think so, I think the floor on these is pretty close as is. It's hard to find a good condition AP1 for less than about $9,000

It won't reach the collectible status of the early S models but I think it will be "collectible enough" to keep it above $2000.
