The $2,000 S2000, will it ever happen?
My "$2,000" is just an example. Meaning a S2k will always hold some floor value and will never be price at a "beater car."
BTW, I'm not waiting for the $$$ to drop. The purpose of the question is more like I would hate to see it be "worthless" 10-15 years from now.
Or will it sort of be like a Porsche 911. No matter the age and condition (generally) you will not find one under $10,000, or %15,000. So if I was to buy a used 1992 911 for $29,000, it won't become $3,000 car 10 years from now. Don't check my numbers, you know what I mean using this example.

I agree. My car is 3 years old today and the low end of KBB's suggested value exceeds what I paid for it when it was new.

I am the original owner of a 1996 Camry LE with 150,000 miles and people wanted for $1,500 and it keep on going and going and going......going.
