2.2 Liter S2000 from Mugen
For those who might have missed it (it is not posted on the Road & Track Site), here are some details from Sam Mitani's May 2000 article regarding the Mugen-Honda SS2200:
They disassembled the car's inline-4, and increased displacement from 1997 cc to 2190 cc.
The modifications included new revised crankshaft, lightweight pistons and connecting rods, freer-flowing exhaust system, ECU, etc.
Horsepower increased by 18 and torque increased by 9 lb.-ft.
Curb weight was decreased to 2100 lb. Fairings were added top and bottom to decrease drag.
Estimated performance: 5.0 sec. 0-60 mph, 13.5 sec to 1/4 mile.

Where is the "Welcome to 3 years ago" smilie when you need it?
I was going to wave the BS flag on that 0-60 time before I noticed that they dropped the weight. That car sound like it would be too much fun.

18hp is huge when you are talking about such a highly tuned engine. This is why owners have trouble getting large hp gains out of their engines without supercharging or going turbo.
