2-3 Catch
I suspect this "catch" is the syncros working. In order for the transmission to go into gear, the two gears need to be spinning at the same speed. The syncros act like a clutch to match the speed of the flywheel with the wheels (at the appropriate gear ratio) which allows the gear to go in without the usual grinding you get w/o syncros.
This, incidentally, is why sometimes you feel a "klunk" in the car when putting it into first when stopped. The wheels aren't moving, but the flywheel can be, and the syncro stops the flywheel when you put it in gear. The resultant momentum transfer is the "klunk" you feel and hear.

Ditto, but I just had my transmission fluid changed at 15K miles, and when I got the car back I noticed that it's almost totally gone. Though the transmission was fine before, all the shifts are just a bit smoother now.
Have it too. I'd describe this as a notchiness or small catch when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Less evident when warm, and when shifting at higher RPM as others report. I have assumed that this is 'characteristic' of this transmission -- I've had no crunching 1-2 yet as some have reported, presumably related to stacking tolerance issues.
