Surely you weren't discounting me just because I disagree with some of your views...

Hi Pinky!
Your mods look very intersting, but i am a little confused: Are you having basically using a bidirectional remote controlled via the dash to send commands to the deck? If so, that's pretty interesting!
Ah Alternators..i remember the good ol' days when i had to combine like 6 Lightning Audio Caps because my dual isobaric bandpass woofers were sucking too much juice and i didn't want to replace my alternator..hehe. Oh and those SPL dB contests...ouch my ears!
I'd like to rig up a simple decent setup with some MBQ's in the fronts (6.5" components) with their nice tweeters in the A-pillars or Mirror vents (somehow). I'm not sure if I want a center channel (yet). I am also contemplating somehow getting some rear fills in the tonneau top cover area or so, though the rears probably won't matter with the kind of dimensions we're dealing with the Stook (it's shitty in other words, at least for sound guys and imaging). I will probably go with a PPI 4 channel 40W to power the fronts and mono out the sub in the back for something nice, simple, and functional. I haven't really taken a look at how much effort this will take, but from your pics, looks like another weekend job

Looks like there's a good contingency of us, either lurking or otherwise. Maybe we should have the moderators create a Audio Talk?! I'd love to hear more about anyone that has done a REAL professional install on the Stook, it's imaging (or lack thereof), and some RTA's of everything. Next to speeding, i love listening

I even got my picture (along with the car -- and a quote or two) in an issue Car Audio magazine!! Surely you weren't discounting me just because I disagree with some of your views...

Well a head unit change and drop in new speakers is about 2 hrs. More than that is gonna be a weekend job!
As for the mod. I dunno if it is a bidirectional remote but what it does it take the signal from your remote....rememeber it....then re-transmit it when you push a button on the dash that you bind to it. So of course you have to have the eye in a spot where it can get to the radio door open/closed. I put it in the middle between the trim ring and the radio opening.
GOOD LUCK.

I don't mind the 2 speakers, really... but the fact that they are mounted so frickin low is annoying. I usually rest my left leg on the door/dead pedal and it ends up muffling the LH speaker.
DOH!

Speaking of installing an aftermarket head unit......does anybody have the wiring schematic for the Honda OEM plug that goes into the back of the stock unit?
I'd like to know which wire is which before I go hacking things apart!
Also, when you guys are installing aftermarket door speakers, are you using the stock Stook (ha ha) wiring to connect to?
Thanks,
