Not necessarily. Check their web site. They insure more than just "classic" cars. Heck, they insure more than just cars.

I wonder if Jay Leno uses them or if he is self insured. I bet he gets a hell of a multicar discount whoever he uses!

But I digress. Back on topic now, which is the OP's car for sale.

I wouldn't really call it a classic. Now, if you had a e30 M3 with 20k miles...

I'm sure when the time came you could sell a bone stock and clean high mileage s2k for more than a lower mileage, modded s2k.

If you look at KBB the price jumped up to $21,000 - $24,000 pp - dealer. I know this is not what their going for on the market. If had it posed for $17,500. Only mods done were some rims, and a jl audio componemnt system with modfry adapeter and deck. Just the simple upgrade.

they dont make the pontiac aztek anymore, does that make it a classic? no... many factors will contribute to the s2k's "classicness" in the future, it isnt there yet.

as far as KBB, i listed my s2k at fair KBB even low and it was in great condition, 49k miles MY00' ended up 2,000 lower than the lowest kbb.

Seriously? The last made/sold S2000s are still practically brand new. Ask again in 10 years.

It won't have an "NSX" type halo, but I think the s2k roadster design will age well, and these cars will always hold some intrinsic value. Going to be hard (if not impossible) to find unmolested examples down the road though.

Grundy Insurance considers it a classic as long as it isn't your daily driver.
$385 per year for full coverage works for me.

As there's no universal, legal definition of "classic" it will be debateable. That said the AACA has, IIRC, a definition... but who gives them the right?

I'd say it's a proto-neo-semi-classic.
