D@mn moderators. Always wantin' peeps to stay on topic and chit.

What was the topic again? Oh yeah... OP put his car up for sale a bunch of months ago and then posted in July that he got an interested possible buyer, but then started having second thoughts because he saw KBB value had jumped up and he started thinking maybe his car is a classic and wanted to know if he should keep it because maybe the value will rise.

Hey OP, it's end of September now... did you sell it? Are you keeping it? Have you decided if it's a classic or not?

NADA undervalues unusually low mileage, KBB overvalues it. Somewhere in the middle is usually right.

Auto loan values are irrelevant for a car that old. You won't be able to get a auto loan for a car that old, it will be a personal loan and the car won't be collateral.

In case anyone was wondering, the S2000 was a classic the instant it rolled off the assembly line.

The S2K was a classic the first day the FIRST one was built , the world has never been the same since ...we all know why a classic changes the game forever and we all look in amazement of how something can be so good .Imo nothing can compare to the one and only S2000

IMO, being a classic is determined by supply and demand. If you're trying to sell your car you're "voting" for it to not become a classic. If you have an unmodded garage queen that you plan to keep forever you're voting the other way. Collectively, us owners will decide how collectible it becomes.

Understandably, most owners didn't buy their S2K intending to keep it forever. But as the price increases, the demographics of new car buyers change. Let's face it - you won't find too many guys wanting to buy a mint '61 T-bird to drive it hard for a few years then sell it.
