Here are some pics and stats:

Asking price: $35,000

Current mileage: 521

We own some beautiful cars, don't we?

BTW, I am in no way advertising here for this dealer, frankly anyone here will tell you that someone high on crack would pay $35k for this S2000. I told the dealer that $26 - 28k is where it needs to be.

Asking $35k is a frigging joke, I paid $28,000 for my new 2001 Spa Yellow last January. Remember if this car has been titled it has what, 12 months left on its warranty? I'd say mid twenties.

$28,995 !
$35,000 is way overboard and not realistic. I guess some people still like to walk in and have $6,000 knocked off the price and feel like they are getting the deal of a lifetime. Retail I think the car is worth about $27,000 - 28,000 considering you can get a left over 01 for invoice. Wholesale the car is worth about $24,000.

I would say somewhere around $29,000 which is pretty fair considering the mileage and the fact that you can buy a new one (at least in our area) for $31,000-32,000. It probably has been sitting in the showroom for many months and this guy's garage in perfect condition.

Well since it's being sold at a Honda dealer, it will get the 100k mile warranty that all certified used Honda's come with.

We paid $29k for a MY'00 w/3,000 miles last October - but it had the CD changer, lojack, and rear spoiler - and that was here in SoCal, the land of exorbitant convertible prices. Seems like prices have dropped a little due to the economy. I would say $26-28k max.

No, not this S2000. The dealership does not want to pay the money to do the certification because it's NOT theirs. This car belongs to the old owner and is being sold on the lot (like a consignment shop). Unfortunately, that thought would never cross the mind of any potential consumer as it has plates and a sticker! Plus, it's at a Honda dealer!

The "Certified Honda" program does cost money to the dealer and it is designed to convince people that buying used is not that bad. Not sure exactly on what it would cost a dealer, but I imagine it can't be that much.
