I have the older model S2000 with the vinal soft top window, does anyone know if it is possible to get the vinal replaced with new vinal , or can I put the actual glass in stead of the vinal or do I need a new foft top if is so how much and where can I get this doen. Help , I cant see out my window when i reverse and I dont want to damage my baby. !!!!

 

you can replace the vinyl window. actually it is the whole rear half of the top, but it can be replaced. I believe the whole 00-01 top is $690 at hardtopguy.com; the rear half would be somewhat less.

Of course, if you replace the back half, it won't match the front to to UV wear and such, so you may as well get the whole thing.

If you are willing to do minor modification to the frame, you can put the 02-05 top with the glass window in as well. The top with the glass window is $850.

installation on either will be about 8 hours labor.

the dealer will get the job done...at a price.

they will more than likely sub the work to a convertible top specialist...so, save a few hundred bucks and go to one of them!!

the modifications to the top to accept the glass top are not that complex. it is really just putting in a few vinyl straps. if you search, there are detailed directions here.
