I'd wait for an 02+ personally. I bought an 01 but replaced soft top, got new door panels for tweeters, center console cover etc which will all wind up costing more than buying an 02 in the beginning.

 

If you do buy an 01 just find one with a replaced soft top. That way you have a new top with glass window...?

 

All years in the S2k are good hehe. Now seriously the 2002+ version has some minor changes that make the car a little "better" or lets same more user friendly. The glass window in the soft top, better audio systeme, center console cover..

But i own a 00 version and i love it. So if you can reach the 02 with a 01 you will be happy im sure!
