When I started experiencing buzzing sound from engine during deceleration, I thought that maybe I might need a TSB #54 done. As a result, I made an appointment with my dealer for them to have a look and get TSB#54 done. However, I was informed by owners here that 2001 S2000 had no TSBs and that problems were already fixed with 2001. Finally, I went to my dealer today to tell them that TSB only applies to 2000 models and I had them check out my car anyway to see what was making the noise. Later, they call me back telling me their service manager said that he was informed about TSB being applied to 2001 as well. I am really confused now. I told them not to do any TSB work just yet. Told them to just change my oil. What should I do?? Can anyone here find out if TSB does apply to 2001 S2K???

While TSB#54 does apply only to '00 models, it is possible that some early model '01s shared this problem. If the dealer is willing to do the fix on your '01, you should probably go for it. If you haven't actually read the TSB, a copy is available at: http://s2ki.s2000online.com/notices/buzzin...nfromengine.php

my dealer is willing to replace my back window free of charge per the TSB. The TSB technically only applied to the 00 model year, but the dealership offered to do the work for me as a good faith effort.

as i understand it, American Honda foots the bill for these things by re-imbursing the dealers. This makes most dealers more willing to do the work as it is more money for them and establishes good will.

I have a 2001 model. JHMAP11431T002427 to be exact and my car DOES have the exact symptoms of TSB54. So you are not alone. I have not looked in to getting this worked-on yet... but I will at a later date.

I told my dealer that I'll put some more mileage into my car and see if the noise goes away. They agreed and told me to come back before my warranty expires if I still have problems.

3,850 miles. I wonder how many more mileage I need to have to determine that something IS wrong with my car.

2001 # 1818; my clutch has the deceleration buz, and I'm going to live with it. I'm not too comfortable having the dealer disassemble my car unless it is absolutely necessary!
