Help everyone,

i am in the process of possibly buying a 2001 s2k.

the owner is asking about 8.75k

the main problems with the car is a small dent on the hood, a dent on the fender that is beginning to have surface rust

the paint is completely fading since it was repainted after the previous owner got the car keyed to death

and the soft top has a couple tears in it.

the pros is that is it is only 85k miles and the rest seems to be in good condition.

does the pricing reflect these problems? am i paying too much? or am i getting a good deal?

please help

 

I'd say that's over priced for the condition and age. I bought my s back in May, on a 53 plate with 47,000miles and paid just over 7k. I'd keep looking

 

damn you got a steal. 7k usd or pounds though?

can i get other peoples opinions? is it worth it?

i realize paint will be about 2-3k, the top is another 1k and the dents will be another 500-1k.

even with all that added to the price, its cheaper then some i'm seeing with good body work but higher mileage.

if the rest of the car is in good condition, it's definitely pretty good.

New top $1500
fix the body damage and paint...$3000+ without looking at it.

Considering a great shape AP1 is probably $14K...

 

It sounds about right dude. Why bother buying a project car though? Move along.

 

I do not have 14-16k to spend on a car right now. also i figured that if i spend the time to fix it up, it will become unique to me and i will love the car by the end.

in other words, it feels so much better when you fix up a car then buying one completely fixed.

 

You can DIY an aftermarket top for $500 (or less).
