Default 2001's for MSRP to make room for 2002

Too funny, back when I was looking for my s2k in may, I inquired about them at Anderson honda in the bay area. They were charging over $5000 markup so I quickly disregarded them. Tonite I get an email from them about 2001's at MSRP. I figured i'd post it so someone else can get them at the price that EVERYONE should be selling them for.

Email Quote:

Thank you for inquiring about the Honda S2000 at our dealership.

Anderson Honda now has 7 2001 S2000's in stock all at a special price through Sunday of only $32740! That's right NO ADDITIONAL DEALER MARK-UP!!! This price does not include applicable taxes or registration fees.

lol That's classic. I had a similar experience yesterday. I dropped by a local Dallas dealer that everyone told me to stay away from - just because I wanted to see if they had any 2002 brochures. They showed me a 2001 model they had in the 2nd showroom.

2001 with 17,000 miles for $34,000! What were they smoking?

In my recent search for a 2002 at MSRP, I found quite a few 2001's at under MSRP. The biggest discount I found was through April Huval of Moss motors - $2000 under MSRP! I was pretty tempted, especially how they had my color in stock, but I figured the 2002 will be worth the extra 2 g's, so I'm buying a Suzuka '02 from Lapointe Honda in Charlotte for MSRP!

In all honestly, I was about to buy a used 2001 for $30,500 from a private party until I learned (through this site) that I could actually get a brand new one at MSRP.

As other people have pointed out in other threads, the 2001 is already 1 year old, and *should* be sold at under MSRP!
