Depends how much you have in the bank for repair bills. Viper is gonna cost some coin to repair known problems for the early years. There was a great article in R&T 5 or 6 months ago about buying older Vipers.

You know, my friend bought a viper a few months ago, early 90's, for 40K.
It is so fast, it's unbelievable. BUT..the quality is very bad, pathetic comes to mind. (not the engine - I don't know about it's quality).
The hood moves around very weirdly at speeds over 70 I'd say. The interior sucks, it's soo crappy. His door handle bezzels fell off. Etc, Etc.
He gets looks allll the time, people love to look at Vipers.
If you want attention, and to go crazy fast - get a viper.
If you want quality, reliability, and a good quality platform that
can be made fast (turbo, supercharge, etc)...get S2K.
I'm sure it gets a lot of looks too!
-Just my opinion.

I agree with the others. Get the s2000 if you want a quick well handling quality sports car. If I could afford it (the upkeep, insurance) I'd get the viper simply because they are hella rare and obnoxious. When I got my s2000 there were some fancy used cars for similar price, but I was already breaking the piggybank (for my salary) buying the s2000, I did not want to have to deal with maintainence. I had a Porsche 944 before and it was so expensive to maintain, and an older Mercedes, which was built much better than the Porsche, but even routine things were much more expensive.
