2002 S2000???
In 1999 I was told that the S2000 was only going to be manufactured for 2 years. Last year, (2000), I heard there was no such rumor. This year at the LA Auto Show, again I was told that there would not be a 2002 model.
Can anyone confirm either way? Personally I'd like them to stop producing the vehicle and keep some value to the car.

Funny, but I just returned from my Honda dealer, and knowing about my passion for the car, about three of the staff descended on me while I was there to tell me that the S2000s won't be made after the 2001MY. Since they have already sold me the car, I don;t think self-interest was at work here.
Who knows? Not the dealers, at least most of the time.

I have a friend who has worked for Honda/Acura USA's for a long time (he was the reason I got my stook for a price we won't talk about here), but he basically said Honda is in the process of making the strategic decision whether or not to take the stook into committed production.
It is looking highly likely that it WILL happen, probably limited production year-to-year, but in an ongoing basis beyond the first 2 years.
Still rumour at this stage, but this is from a reliable source...

To answer this question you have to ask yourself if Honda, one of the most successful motor companies in the world, would spend millions on tooling a limited production run of only two years? I don't think so. How long has the NSX been running? 2001 is the 10th year of production.
