... I say we start a pool..

Everyone who has ordered an '02, and has posted about how long it is going to take and how frustrated they are, antes up $5.00, and the first person who posts pictures of their '02 gets the money.

However, they have to send the money to Rick Hesel so he can examine the '02 , find out what Honda didn't fix, and then produce and sell us aftermarket products.

S2kDude- Can't wait to join the Atlanta Chapter, have already had great conversations with SilverStreak and today talked at length with Susuka Sue. Look forward to meeting you all.

I have been told that one will be in Charlotte the third week as well with another to follow two weeks after that. The first one is not spoken for as I think that it is the sebring silver.

I have already begun the internal argument about whether to trade-in or not.

I gave my dealer $1000 in July so he could order a 2002 as soon as they were available. As of 28 Sept they have not been allocated one yet. The price on my contract is MSRP. I also told them to order a hardtop the price for it is $2519 + installation.
(they didn't know how much that will be on 2002MY, for a 2001MY it calls for 5hrs which comes out to $300, if that's the case I may do it myself). The sales manager has been talking to Honda trying to get one allocated. I have also talked to Honda customer service and told them that it was BS that a dealer that has had a car sold since July can't get one, but other dealers have them inbound with no sale. The sales manager gave me a booklet with the phone numbers for every Honda dealer in the U.S. and the regional offices. If I don't hear something from the dealer by tomorrow I'm going to call the S.E. office and see if I can get someone there (That can do something ) to listen to me. BTW this will be my sixth Honda I think that should be worth something.

106 Dart:
You have several options. First the dealer you are working with is not being honest with you if he will not tell you which dealers in your area will be getting cars. Every dealer gets "The List" showing what cars are going where. I know this because I found a 2001 at dealer A and a 2002 at dealer B. I was not sure if dealer B was being honest with me about getting the first 2002 Spa Yellow in Florida. Well dealer A looked on his list and confirmed what dealer B was saying. Needless to say I was amazed that dealer A was honest enough to tell me that dealer B was being truthful. Because by doing so he lost the sale of the 2001.
Your second option is to use an internet service like cars.com to submit a request to all the dealers looking for a 2002. Someone will call you with one.
Let us know when you place your order and you to can become one of the miserable people waiting for our beloved 2002 s2000's

My dealer has not offered the info on what dealers are getting what, but my down payment is refundable (in writing) and I have the option to go elsewhere. I have called some dealers in the local area to check price and allocations. If I decide the wait is going to be to long I will start looking around more. I think I will at least wait until other dealers start to receive 2002MY S2000s before I look seriously because I think some dealers will tell you they have inbound cars just to keep you interested and then just keep changing the delivery date.

My dealer just told me that other dealers were probably making something up about the build date, unless they got a vin #. My dealer ordered mine and still havent got a vin yet.
