Is this the silver currently used on the Civic, or is it a completely new color?

This is Monte Carlo Blue, the 2002 blue is called Suzuka Blue and it seems like a lighter shade.

I was told Clear Lake Honda will be ordering a 2002 blue/blue and it should be on the showroom floor in August. It was also stated that a rear glass window would be available but there was some question as to whether it would be a standard feature or optional.

It is positively an option and comes with a hardtop attached.

As a very recent s2k buyer, I spoke with 6 different dealerships and about 8 different sales people about 2001 vs 2002 differences. Not a single person has either seen a 2002 sales brochure or order slip nor heard about a glass rear window. Only 1 sales guy mentioned the fact that there will be 2 new colors. So you can derive two things from this: 1) Sales people are usualy the last to know and 2) You can have a blue car. If you can wait for the 2002s to come out, then do so as a glass window would be worth it. If it's still plastic, then you've just lost some time but gained the latest MY S2K out there.

I did speak with another salesman at a different dealership who knew of and sought out the color chart for the 2002 only to return and tell me it didn't exist. They claimed no knowledge about a glass window but they also had a "rare and limited" S2k on the floor.

I tend to trust the other dealership more (as much as you can trust any car dealership) as I purchased my car from them and requested they call me when the "02 came in. I do like William's response though and feel it's right in line with the car game.
