Default 2002 testdrive. A MY2000 owner's perspective.

i had the chance to drive a 2002 model yesterday. the changes are nice: console cover, vinyl surrounding the area behind the seats, and tweeters. i test drove the new silverstone with red interior. the car had almost a whitish gleam to it. the red interior isn't actually all that overwhelming (but would take some getting used to). i can't really comment on the rear window (i had it down), but if you're used to driving with the convertible boot on, that's the visibility you'll be getting.

probably my biggest turn-off would be the clutch. it seemed weak in comparision to the one i own. in addition, it took longer for it to grab onto the flywheel. i found myself overrevving. maybe MY 2001 owners would be used to this.

i have all the upgrades except for the glass window (console cover from rick, component speakers, voodoo knob-another believer). so at the moment i can't justify myself losing out on the trade in difference of 6K. admittedly, the acceleration is smoother.

when i drove out of the dealership, getting reacquainted with the stiffer clutch required some additional leg muscle.

all in all, i'll keep cyndi. it's great to have such a good bond with your car. although when i drove her home, it felt like i had an affair. crazy isn't it?

airgate,

How nice is it to NOT own a black car?

I love my S2000, but maintaining the Berlina Black is a full time job.

From the pictures you have have posted, your car look's very nice!

This is the first time I heard that the clutch in the '02 was weaker than the ones in the '00. I thought they upgraded the clutch as well as the tranny in the '02.
