I have 17x9 with 255's, also a good alignment and i would have to try so damn hard to get my car to spin out. I even try it sometimes for fun and it just wont, stock like glue no matter how hard i turn in, or how much throttle i apply. Just make sure to upgrade your tires and wheels before you try and drive like an ass.. lol ;P

I've owned the car for ~4 years now and haven't attempted to induce oversteer.....

i found that the best "traction control" in the AP1's and early AP2's, is actually "traction assistance". What's that? The best tires money can buy(RS-3's, star specs, RE-01R's, S0-2's, etc- tread wear utqg no more than 200), and a spec alignment. that along with your right foot is the best traction control you need in those AP's.

Couldn't have said it better. OP, if you do purchase an S2000, definitely invest in some good tires. I had RE050A Potenza Pole Positions on my first S2K (an 05 without traction control / VSA) and I never once had an issue with spinning out. Fast forward to my current '08 S2000 CR and when I purchased it, the dealer put some crappy Dunlop DZ101 tires on the front/rear (and shorted me on width in the rear, supposed to be 255 but they're 245...
). I turned the VSA off one day and tried taking a corner at the same pace I would in my '05 and I ended up spinning and doing a 180. Luckily only my rim was curbed and no other damage (besides my ego...) but I can honestly say that my tires were the the weak spot in my setup. I plan on replacing them ASAP after they're worn down and taking it easy with the VSA on until then.Best of luck in your search!

If you can't even control a s2k at low speeds making a right turn, you should buy another car or take driving lessons. Not to be a ass, but you are going to end up killing yourself or someone else since you can't even correct a slight over steer on stock power levels. If you really want a s2000, than I recommend going to an abandoned airstrip and induce over steer at higher speeds and learn to counter while easing on the throttle.

i learned the hard way. took 6 months to be put in check. i always drive my car safe but just one time on a curvy road put me in check. i was lucky to have it fixed at a great shop and the car was not totaled. after a long list of new OEM rear parts i got my car back and have a new outlook on it. keep tires fresh, buy quality tires and keep from doing "dumb" things behind the wheel and you will be ok. what worries me the most is when its wet out. im the guy thats being extra careful now. lesson learned.
