Maybe if I rephrase and ask the question, what aspects of the S2000 do you think could make it a classic and (to stay more on topic) what changes in the 2004 model year and/or beyond do you think would enhance it's potential to leave an enduring mark on the automotive world?

Ddelaros: gotta call you on this one. I have a friend who is an engineer at Honda in Ohio too, and he's actually one of the ones who gets to do all of the cool extracurricular stuff too, like heat and enduro-trial the new prototypes; he doesn't get that kind of insider info. In fact, that's all Honda of Japan's domain. The S2000 is 100% built in Takanezawa; the American designers have NO say in anything that goes into cars built there (been there, met the Japanese S2000 designers last summer).
As for the rest of you, the homosexual-bashing has been covered before and was decided that it wouldn't be tolerated, so you had better hope that the senior admin don't get wind of it. Personally, it disgusts me that you need someone to look down on or pick on; I thought we left all of that behind in middle school? Grow up and do your part to make this a forum where *every* person feels comfortable coming to discuss CARS!

If I were a homosexual, I'd be very offended by the suggestion that gay people (is that OK?) prefer SUVs which are an absolute blight, an evil curse, a parade of Jurassic grotesqueries constipating the roads of our great, open minded and sexually diverse nation.

Whoever quoted the NSX as a poor depreciation value, you have to be kidding right? A 10 year old car that has lost only half it's original value. How many cars are 10 years old and still have half it's value?
And that is only the first generation NSX. The second generation NSX's still command a lot of money.
The S2000 was Honda's approach at an affordable sports car. Honda/Acura already has one elitist model and that's the NSX. If you've watched the auto show intro's or read the S2k book, it would appear to me that Honda wanted the S to be affordable so more people could enjoy the car. Again, owners who don't want a new model, this is ridiculous. The S2k is the best convertible out there. For them to discontinue is stupid. They need a new model to battle Porsche, BMW, Mercedes.
Besides, if I have seen anything quoted in this board, is you bought the S2k because you enjoy the car. It appeared that no one really cared if there are other cars that are faster at the 1/4 mile, or top speed, because the S was a great fun car. Does a new model make the current S any "less" fun?
Can anyone here name a japanese car that has gone up in collector value? Sports cars in general are horrible values. The values in the enjoyment of the car.
If you bought a 1970 hemi cuda in 1970, now that is an investment. But did the people back then think it was an investment? No! otherwise they would have parked those babies in the garage and never sold them or driven them, and what good would that have done.
Anyone really concerned about their resale value, quit driving your S now, it will keep it's value longer. Get an auto/AC adapter and a mobile screen for a playstation 2 and put it in your passenger seat. Then you can play Gran Turismo A-spec knowing that you've saved value in your S.
Or you could realize, you own a special car and nothing can change that. I'm sure if you'd go out and give the car a spin, you'd realize why you bought the car in the first place, and not worry about some silly rumour in a message board.
