hmmmmmmm... there is one redesign I'd like to see...Take the current motor, make it an inline 5 and then hand it over to Spoon to eek out every last little bit of performance with a 12,500 RPM redline

Everybody laughed at him, saying that the only glass rear window for the S2000 would be on the hardtop. I believed him and waited for the '02. Now I got a glass window and I don't have a hardtop.
I think that idiot was me! You don't have to believe me... Get your lazy butts on the phone and check yourself. It's not like I did not supply the source.

Will it happen 100% ? I don't know but so far my sources have never been wrong.

Good Luck...

I had a Datsun 1600 in 1966. It was advanced for its time, and way cool. Then in 1970 along comes the 240Z, and the playing field changed forever. I miss my old car, but I wouldn't want to drive it now. Cars evolve. Drive yours until something better yanks your chain. It may not happen for a long time. The best thing for the s2000 to hold value would be for HMC to hire Chris Bangle to design a new one; it would be so ugly that no one would buy it, Honda would discontinue roadsters, and you'd have a classic, then maybe 40 years later everyone would want it, like the Cobra 427 I couldn't afford in 1966 or now!

Agreed (for the money).

Now here is where I have a problem!! It's almost like you are contradicting your above statement. I don't really see Honda having problems selling S2000s at the moment so I really don't see a need for a major redesign in 2004. I concede there isn't the waiting list there used to be to get a S2000, but the cars are still selling just fine. I do think that Honda should be doing R&D right now for the next generation S2000 (if that's their intention), but I really don't think there is this huge need for it to come out soon to compete (like some people think)! The S2000 is still the best convertible (for the money) and others making new more expensive models really isn't changing that.

Whatever!!! I change cars every so often so speak yourself Im not a miata owner just happy for what I got....The S2000 is a great car change is whats going to happen and if they do change the car so be it because Im going to be driving it....Who cares about Honda Sales I dont own the company I want a car that performs and cars are like computers always improving and if they do a redesign let it be welcomed!!! I want a more powerful S2000 hey lets face it its a sports car true enthusiast wants fun style and also high performance!!! Since everyone else is changing lets welcome it like that porsche boxster commercial I dont want to be that old man waking up years later and seeing a newer version of his speedster!! And yes there is always a need for change since all these other cars like SUVs familly cars and sedans are all being High Performance everyones getting 220 to 240 or more Horsepower But if Benz and Bimmer are changing there cars even though they cost more and always did why not honda!! They can still build a updated version of the S2000 and still be under 35000 look what Nissan did or is doing also Maybe Honda should up the ante by offering different Models of the S2000 from Base S2000 to a Type R and also offer costumer Options like BMW does all built to the consumers liking so everyone is Happy thats what nissan is Doing for the 350Z and bmw with its cars why not Honda look at the Acura line Type S so move on and dont be left behind change is most of the time good!!!

Dude find the period key on your keyboard. I'm not claiming to be correct in my grammar and punctuation all the time, but your jumble of words is an utter mess!

All I'm saying is that Honda doesn't need a completely redesigned S2000 in 2004 to compete. You and others may want one -- but that's totally different. Honda, like most large companies, in in the business to make money so their needs and wants aren't the same as yours.
