2004 Model Announcement
First of all, don't take my post as a flame, and please don't run around calling people idots just because you're smarter than the rest of us and have hookups everywhere.
I'm not saying it's impossible, but due to the recent wave of new cars and developements and at Honda(Element, JDM Accord, American Accord, ongoing developement of the newNSX and the new RL, Pilot...) I doubt Honda can have the time or the resources to properly plan or develope or tool up for a new S2000(Keeping in mind how long it took to bring the S2k to the market in the first place.).
I don't see why some of you are complaining the S2k to lose ground to other roadsters simply because the lack of power. Is power that important to you? Ever since the S2000 was released to the market, it was never meant to be the drag king or anything. It was designed to be an overall well-balanced and fun car like the Miata was. It achieved the goal. To have a much more powerful(bigger) engine, the suspension and chassis and drivetrain will need to be heavily beefed up, losing the lightweight, agile nature of the car that makes it so much fun to drive. This will also take lots of time, unless Honda started the project right after they launched the S2k, which I highly doubt.
I do think it's not impossible if Honda decides to do a minor facelift and perhaps a newer version of the F20C(Most likely i-VTEC).
That's just my 2 cents.

Dealers can get as many as 9 S2000's and as few as 2 but most dealers get more than "a couple"Dealers are notified by Honda how many S's they will have delivered each year, what months they will arrive and what the color combo's will be for the following model year.I talked to an owner of a local Honda dealership who I've met through a friend and that's what he told me.
