2004 Model Announcement
I think Honda knows that us Americans get bored with the same options pretty quick, so they are trying to get something to tide us over for the next couple of years. Other than minor refinements and possibly a very small engine change, I don't think that we'll be getting anything major for a while. Seems that's what honda does with their high perf. cars.

The 2004 S2000 will be a hand made knock off of the 68 Pontiac Firebird 400 with the tunnel port 400 "Homogulation"
engine 480 HP @ 8000 rpm with a Muncie "Rock Crusher" transmission. This will introduce the "innovation" of the 4 speed transmission (but will be capable of launching from any of the 3 lower gears, and will be capable of lifting the front tires off the ground in all gears.
The only options will be hand cranked windows and the new and innovative 8 track tape deck.
No one has been able to time the 0-60 due to the excessive tire smoke and subsequent low visibility, however, they have been timed in the middle 10's with a trap speed of about 134.78569 mph...
I know that this is reliable info cause my brothers best friend's cousin heard it from a busboy that had talked to a chef at the Benihanna whose nephew
frequents the same Geshia House as Mr. Honda's butler.

I bet they will continue in the same vein as they do with the Porsche Boxster. Still offer the base 2 litre model and have a similar car with a slightly larger displacement thatw ill fetch a higher price...
Then again maybe Honda wanna prove a point to Nissans new 350Z..and reaffirm their status as kings of NA...

I believe the S2000 will only run 5 to 6 production years. They will restyle and re-engineer the S. I would not compare the S2000 to the NSX in production line. This is my .02 cents. Anyone taking bets?
