[QUOTE]Dude you really are clueless aren't you? Most all the new changes in new S2200 are directed towards softening the car to make it appeal to more people (and not just enthusiasts). The new 17s might appeal to enthusiasts, but they will probably end up being heavy and thus really only appeal to posers. All this means (that in Japan) the S2200 is likely to be the 'girly' S while the original S2000 is for the hardcore drivers!

True, but you seem to focus only on the positive conjecture and want to ignore items that imply the S2200 will be softened. The lowered redline, new flywheel, and soften suspension (at least that what some magazines are saying) point to a car geared for the masses not the performance oriented.

True -- we have the figures from Japan showing the peak torque at a lower RPM. Just curious, where are these report from someone who a driven it? I haven't seen them yet.

[B]Honda *has* changed the "gearing" to take advantage of the increased torque and it *will* pull harder (unlike the integra cited in your example piece).

Ya, know. The front and rear wheel/tire size on the '04 just might be the same size.

Can't really tell.

BTW, the Porsche Boxster has more torque at a lower RPM, but that didn't make it better than the S2000 (based on most magazine tests).

Hey, maybe I'm a minority, but I do like the newer car. I think that it's just different, not better or worse. It's like childern, you love em all, for different reasons. And I don't believe that honda did this to make more money, there are much better investments out there for a company than this. However, I can't claim to know why either!!! I hope to be driving one of the 2004's by december!
