All I know is what I told you. My DM got the info straight from Honda. This ins't a redesign of the car. It is the same engine, they are just bumping the displacement to get more torque out of it. No word on Hard top convertable or coupe (except for what I read in Road and Track). I am sorry that I can't answer any more of your questions yet... but as soon I get some more info I will post it up here.

www.collegehillshonda has a 2004 preview page and they just added some new accessories for the S2000:

1) headrest speakers
2) new front underbody spoiler
3) new wing spoiler

They already had listed the 2.2L change and the Rio Yellow

Not if you improve the fuel EFFICIENCY of the car. By reducing friction, the engine runs more smoothly and uses less fuel. The F20C is a great example of this, but Honda could possibly match the fuel consuption with a 2.2L engine. But then again, What the hell would be the point of going through all that trouble?!?!

I am only guessing, but I would suspect that the "improved fuel economy" will come from a taller 6th gear. I can't imagine that Honda would jeopardize acceleration times with taller gearing in the lower gears. What would be the point?

Also, I REALLY hope Honda bumps the h.p. as well. It may seem kinda stupid/petty, but I'd like to see the specific output remain the same, as it is one of the car's more notable bragging points (not that I'm into bragging, but I think it's a cool technical point). So, I'd like to see the h.p. get bumped to at least 264. But, I'm likely dreaming...

Out of curiosity do you know when(approx) the 2004 S2000 would actually be manufactured.

Do these vehicles sit around for several months before they are shipped to the US.

My Honda dealer - who is not prone to BS - says that actual production on MY04 S2K's starts September 5.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a 2004 2.2L anyway.

One question, will it be assembled in US or Japan?
