2004 S2k DRIVESHAFT PROB.!
Hey MacGyver, thanks for your response. So far, from the responses, I "be au fait with" that this J's product is a solution to a non-existent issue. Your answer was simple and direct-thank you.
Bret, with your educational background, it is valid within this forums context to include/ elaborate with your competance. However, Mr. Road Rage utilized his societal role to perpetuate a greater sense of didactic enlightenment. If you recall his previous statement of illustrating his theory of "whacko environmentalists," you are effortlessly able to understand that this was not warrented. I did not ask for theories about this sphere, yet, he felt obligated to enlighten me with this analogistic gaffe. Now Bret, when you are deploying information pertaining to "manufacturing or quality control subject, etc., " than you most certainly should be competant within your respective field (you would'nt ask your mechanic for angioplasty). I find, as you stated, "nothing wrong with it," but his subversive tactic of edifying coercion does not work with intelligentsia and is invective to ppl would frequent this medium.

Man, you have lost it and blown this way out of proportion.
You asked about a "problem". You stated that it showed up where cars are "driven aggresively".
I merely pointeed out the obvious: that many here profess to drive aggresively, and that there did not seem to be a large population of those with failures as would be predicted if the JDS claims were indeed based on fact.
I made the epidemiological reference analogy to try to clarify that point, since one-off diseases do not get researched - while a large population of disease does. Call it a gaffe and say all the witty verbosities you like - it does not change the fact that this seems to be a non-issue.
Other picked up on the Chicken Little theme, analagous to the whacko environmentalists: when i was a student, they were predicting ice ages, and now they claim we are in global warming. The point is that alarmists have always been out there, and they fail to achieve what the law requires: the burden of proof.
Bret got it, sorry you didn't.
Let me try to salvage something here and state it simply:
Don't fix what ain't broke.

Take it offline guys -- please? I know you're each just trying to prove to the world that you know what you're talking about, but all you're proving to the 1140 people who have viewed this thread is that you can't resist beating a dead horse.

There's some validity to this guys...
Someone that I know in Japan who races quite a bit at Tsukuba and other tracks around Tochigi prefecture told me the same thing a couple days ago.
His exact words were please be careful about the S2000 driveshafts, people have had trouble with them here while racing.
Since very few of your guys actually drive your cars on a track you probably haven't had the trouble. You haven't broken hubs or torn A-arm mounts off the body of the car either. But both can happen...

I'd imagine there would be more than a few changes to the S2000 one would want to make
if they were racing the car but for the remaining 95% of owners, this is a non-issue.
Aggressive driving is NOT racing.

I don't think we can deny there is "validity" in this "potential" problem given certain kinds of circumstances. Remember "scatter shields"? Should we all go out and scramble to get them put on our cars for fear of having a tranny part come through the center console and take our family jewels to the scrap yard?
IMO, it might be more pertinent for someone to develop a 2nd gear lock out so people don't mis-shift and over-rev this engine, since this has been more of a reported occurance than damaged trannies as a result of no drive shaft spacer.
