Default 2004 - S2K Tires and Size Change...

Now that the wheels are going to 17's, and the new tire size is P215/45R fronts and P245/40R rears, what tire do you thing Honda will use? Do you think they'll still use the '02s?

Definitely RE050's, at least according to the Honda sales material scanned in another thread.

How does everyone feel about the RE050? Have some S2000 owners tried this tire with 17" wheels already? How does it compare to the S02?

I sure like to know how it compares. I wonder if the compound is as soft?

If my math is right and myt memory of what others have said aboiut tire sizes. then it appers that the MY04 will have higher "tire gearing": (It is Sunday and me and my staff are fighting the latest MS Virus):

205/55-16 24.87"
215/45-17 24.62"

225/50-16 24.85"
245/45-17 24.71"

Woah, is this it? Does the tread pattern look the same on all the applications they list on that website?

This is the same tire used on the Ferrari Enzo, by the way. Of course, that runs a 345 rear, and is a special "Scudaria" version. But still, the Enzo DOES have RE050s.

I think it'll be just fine on our little S2200.
