Why just an '02? The '03 is identical. This will give you a bit more of a selection of vehicles than just one model year.

There aren't much 03's in my area. Plus the price difference is greater than $2500.

can you do a straight trade for a MY04 TSX and a MY02 at a dealership?
I heard TSX's were hot selling cars so should get a decent trade in no?

My wife drives a 6MT TSX. I'm not sure what you are trying to compare.

The TSX is a slightly underpowered, refined mid sized sedan with a great gearbox and great chassis tuning. It is very practical, fun to drive and gets good gas mileage.

The S2000 is a noisy, cramped, impractical roadster that is ten laughs a minute.

Are you planning to use it as an only car? Have you tried to fit any real luggage in the trunk? Do you enjoy buying tires every 15k miles? Do you have a garage to park it in overnight?

The other day I went to Lowe's to buy some A/C filters for my house. The only way I could get them home was to put them in the passenger seat and lower the top.

I love my S2000 but there are definitely some compromises you have to make to own this car as an only car.

Hey,

New to the forum and found great interest to the 2002 S2K. I currently drive a 6spd/TSX, however I'm planing to trade-in for an used 2002 S2K
. Anyone on this board with similar experience?

Also, what is a good price for an used 02 S2K?

TIA,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,

I went from a MY03 to 04 TSX then to a MY04. I really liked the TSX, but it's very hard to compare two cars that are of different breeds. For the value, I don't think there's another car in the TSX's price range which offers the same amount of features, and reliability. I enjoy MY04 very much, however, sometimes do miss the opporunity to put stuff in the back seat and a full size trunk. It was not a very difficult transition for me as I have owned a MY03 before. I might consider picking up another TSX for a daily driver and fall/winter car.

Good luck with your choice.

I'd be losing $2500 overall (financing). But it's an overall nice trade, since the TSX holds its value quite nicely as well.

Inspire,

I agree it's a hard comparison, but anyone that went from one end to another can give some helpful inputs (like you for example). Besides, I don't use my trunk or rear seats as often as I'd like to, so I won't be missing the "extra" space in my current car.

If all goes well.....which I hope, I'd be able to give some valuable input to the future "tsx to s2k"-ers as well.

I purchased my TSX the second month they came out, so approximately May/June 2003. Being that it was sold as a 2004 car, when I got rid of it Dec 04 I only lost $1000CDN on it.

Some times I wish I still had the TSX for a daily driver or for those days you just want to lean back and cruise around in a sedan.

Good luck on your transition...I am sure you'll be happy

Cheers,
