I hear the '06 will be AWD, hybrid, coupe with traction control, 500 hp, still only 150 lb. tq., 7 speed automatic, with 4 cup holders, red line of 5,000 RPM's, with 19" stock spinners. At least, that's what I heard.

I think the removable hardtop offered now actually weighs less than the whole softtop assembly. So even if they didn't bother to remove the re-enforcements that made the convertable rigid, a coupe should still be lighter.

i can't imagine by much. the soft top motor itself is only 13 pounds.

i believe the hardtop weighs what... 34 pounds total?

if all they do is throw a hard top on without re-designing the entire car, the difference would be negligible at best.
