There's no question. The Elise hands down. Even for a daily driver it will give you a better experience overall. The only reason to prefer an S2000 is the cost.

I would also go with the Elise. The only reason I would choose the S2000 as a weekend car would be if I had to stick to a certain budget. Those little Elise's are quick.

What are your thoughts.

The Honda is less, but doesn't fit me as well as the Lotus.

Once in the Lotus I am okay, it is pretty raw inside.

This will be a weekend car, and would be surprised if it got more than 200 miles a month.

Go with the Elise if you can find one and don't mind Lotus maintainance headaches. The price approaches what one would pay for a Z06 or Boxster, so think about it.

If you're willing to give up all comforts for handling and speed, then definetely get the Elise, especially if you're never going on a long trip. If you need some comfort, or you're worried about safety, then get the S2000.

Snowdon - It sounds like you've already decided against the S2K.

If that's the case, you might try to get your hands on an Exige.

I hear it's even quicker around a track than the Elise.

One thing I forgot mention; say hello to the tooth fairy and santa claus while they're along for your next test drive.

If $$$ is not a concern then the Elise for sure. As always be patient and do your homework. You should be able to come across a good deal in time. Good luck!
