bump i need to know how much oil came out of the blown engine when you drained it and exactly what engine oil filter was on the engine when it siezed? also have you determined the cause of the seize?

and, i don't believe a dealership is obligated to disclose information regarding a used car's condition. i highly doubt that.

so they don't have to give up info, they just can't MISrepresent info.
When i bought my s2000 used at a dealer, the dealer made me sign something saying that i understood the parts that had been replaced and are ok with it. Does this apply to the OP i dont know but maybe

and i don't think negligence has anything to do with it.

they can probably negligently damage the car...and then sell it "as-is", which means you buy it with all the damage regardless of how the damage got onto the car.

as long as they do not MISrepresent the car's condition.

After reading all 13 pages, i've noticed a couple things were not answered and curious to why you won't shed the light.

Numerous people asked how much you paid for the car. Maybe i missed it, but i don't think i did. Like previous post's mentioned, maybe the low price should've been an indicator if it was low for an '07, but they probably scammed you on that too.

Second, you said you still had to finish your down payment to acquire the vehicle. Was that a lot? Did you trade anything in? Just asking if you're able to call it a wash and move on to find another sk2.

and lastly....whats the update? did you ever end up getting a lawyer or not?

Why is everyone bashing the OP? First of all feel bad for him.. imagine how excited you guys were when you bought your s2000 and what if 3 days later it died, and the dealer excepts no responsibility. you would be mad as well!!

People are willing to pay much more at a dealer because they are supposed to offer piece of mind that they are buying a proven safe and reliable car. If you buy a car from ANY dealer the fluid should be in their normal ranges. I dont blame him for not checking his oil yet. For that motor to fully seize up means that there must have been some long time abuse or something other than his 3 days driving for that to happen.

"As is" doesnt fully mean that as soon as you sign the paperwork the dealer has nothing to do with the car. It doesnt work that way. Threaten to take them to court, I am sure they dont want other potential car buyers knowing that they in court for a car purchased 3 days ago. maybe they will give in and fix the car. Its worth a shot.....
Its S2KI man... its no better than ClubRSX these days, too many jack asses who just wana flame and stir shit.

I feel bad for the OP and hope this situation works out for him.

Update: getting my motor replaced with a ap2 motor with 8k miles. Initial inspection from the shop has confirmed oil starvation is the cause of engine seizure.

I got a good deal on the car. The reason its complicated is because I had a trade and still owed down payment.

Also going to have motor torn apart for inspection with journal entries+photos to show at court. I am going to take the dealership to small claims once my caris fixed. Thanks for the support

What else can you do! Anyway, good luck with the outcome of your case. At least you'll be back on the road soon. Just keep an eye on that dip stick.
