Default 2008 CR or 2009 standard

Curious as to what y'all think can be had cheaper now - there seem to be leftover '08 CRs all over the place, but my local dealer insists that they are still worthy of markup being "rare" and "discontinued" and all. heh.

Mark up on an 08 CR? He must be nuts. At the most he can get invoice. I have heard of people getting CR's for serval K under invoice.

I really like my CR but wish it had a soft top.

30k plus taxes is good for a cr. Not many people will pay 37k for it.

Yep - that's what's stopping me. Already have an Exige that I have to unbolt the top from.

OTOH, if you don't mess with all the electronics and wiring, can it really be THAT hard to pull the CR crossbrace and slap a Robbins top on there for purely manual (emergency) use?

In that case, why not a low mileage 07 for ~$22k?

I got the CR for A-stock autocross, so I cannot remove the crossbrace or add a softtop.

You know, people keep asking about putting soft tops in CRs.

I wonder if someone savvy with plastics and vinyl couldn't design a foldable plastic "hardtop" that would fit in the trunk and be used in emergency weather situations.

Basically a tubular frame arch in the pin points by each headrest and a snap-in or zippered cloth top.
