I just got an email from one of my local Honda dealers. They always include coupons for service and things like that. But they also advertised some of their prices and listed a 2008 S2000 for only $30,494! I wonder if they are willing to advertise a price like this below MSRP what they could be bargained down to...

What have you guys with 08's (any of you out there yet?) paid?
S2000 sales are in the dumper right now and have been for a while. The price you listed does not surprise me at all. YTD sales were down to 4,000 for 11/2007 vs 6,000 in 11/2006. I would suspect incentives will increase rapidly by earl;y next year. I would personally not pay MSRP for a CR as they have to come down as well. There can't be enough die hard enthusiasts to buy all the CR's at MSRP. When Mazda released a stripped down track version of the Miata, the same thing happened(they backed up on dealer lots as there were not enough takers for a hardcore car).

cheapest you'll find an 08 for around here is msrp. they aren't budging one bit yet, and won't for a very long time.

Where are you located? One always have the option to buy out of state. Either that or just wait a few months, prices will come down.

Damn, I still haven't seen a S2000 CR in the Honda Dealership Showroom in my area. I'm gonna go take a peek the next time I need some small parts.

Dealer in Texas is selling CR at $3000 BELOW MSRP.

It pays yourself to wait. Heck, $27K-$28K was the going price for 07 models during the summer of 2007.
I live in Florida and we used a broker to get our Jaguars and they all came from Texas with incredibly low prices. I was shocked to see a 05 Jaguar S-Type with MSRP of over 52k for around 46k. But that is why we use a broker. They find the good deals.

In NY, it is going to get colder before it gets warmer. At your pricing, your CR will sit for a few months.

What are the differences between the MY2007 and MY2008 S2000s? I am thinking of updating my 05 to a newer car while they still make them - and to get VSA. I started in a slightly used NFR 01 and traded it for the new 05 NFR and would probably get an 08 or maybe 07 NFR.

From the Honda page they changed the wheels (again), but other than that I can't tell much has changed.

Thanks,
Dennis
