Do what you want Buy it if you really like the car.

If you are buying the car for the image? Then ya, it's definitely old. But if you are looking for the fun factor (for a drive-able street car)? I think the S2000 is quite hard to beat. I consider Elise and Exige not quite drive-able on the streets.

My friends generally drive newer cars -- typically European cars. They always wonder why I haven't moved on and why I'm still sticking to my little Japanese car when there are so many cars out there. I find it unnecessary to explain, as I'm the one having fun, and not them

I couldn't have been happier with another car. After I sold my AP2, I was in the market for another car. I shopped around and got good offers on some nice cars (like Cayman S from my boss at a very good price, an E46 M3 in good condition, etc.), but I just wasn't as thrilled to drive them as when I was driving my AP2. So I decided to go through to hassle of getting an Japan-imported S2K ... (trust me, it wasn't easy in where I live).

Anyway, that's just me. Some people still think I'm an idiot for doing that

I bought in '07 and have wanted one since the SSR days. I initially wanted used but since I plan to keep this car for a very long time, I wanted to get a brand new one that had not been abused and the discount warranted just spending a tad more for the 2007.

Outside of this car, I will probably never buy another new car again.

I did, and I would def again.

But if I don't have my current 05, I'd still look for an 04-05 AP2 for the lower price and without the 06+ changes. (just wish they came in Laguna blue as well..) The reason being... a number of mods made for AP1/early AP2 don't fit on 06+, I believe.
