• Don't obscure license plates or blur out parts of the image unless its for artistic purposes - we strive for "natural" images without obvious editing and watermarks, etc.
• Many submissions each year are the ubiquitous 1/4 front or 1/4 rear view, and we can only have so many similar poses in a calendar, so taking the time to do something different will count toward the submissions. Lots of great photos are not used because they are very similar to others at popular angles.

That is a great pic but the aspect ratio doesn't work well for a calendar. It would lose too much being cropped and the stream/distant road are important elements. A pic that nice shouldn't be stacked on another of matching aspect ratio either.

Yeah, every year the same problems come up - how do you balance color, angle, and composition into the form factor. Every year great photos don't get included because they are too low resolution, don't get actually emailed, don't fit the form factor, or there's too much competition (typically with the silvers). Plus, every year less people even buy them, so there's less interest for the effort.
