21 and under s2000 owners
Also rereading your post i guess my parents did hand me that money for the first car, but on the other hand i drove the car for a over a year put 25k miles on it and didnt trash it like everyone thinks the typical young person does and that resulted in me being able to save my for dream car while my current cars value did not diminish greatly
Multi-car discounts. Most likely has the S as the "second/weekend" car.
Fluky15, the "catch" here is that USAA is insurance for Military and their families... so these rates are less than what the average 21 year old would pay.
On a side note, I wonder how many of these 21 and under guys who say they "bought their s2000" truly paid for it? It is incorrect to say you bought it if your parents bought it for you. Also, IMO if you are paying $3,000 a year for insurance on a car that is worth $20k or less... your priorities are jacked up. I pay half of that for insurance on my HOUSE and I live in a hurricane zone.

I dont think my priorities are jacked up, no matter what vehicle I have it will be $3,000 a year, so may as well make it a good one

Yea I am not understanding the huge differences in insurance here
. Some of us pay out of our asses, while some dont. Some of the lower paying guys even are on their own policy! I pay approximately $3000 a year myself. Seriously, pm me your tricks

In the end, as long as you are paying the insurance out of your own earnings, then that's your decision and an s2000 isn't the worst thing you could be blowing money on... but $3k a year could go a long ways towards a down payment on a house or other investments.
Because of my driving record when it came time to buy the S I was actually going to get a 50th anniversary z06 triple black used but insurance would have been close to 700 a month at 23, I bought my s2000 brand new and spent a little more for the car payment and insurance combined. I think where you live and driving record play a big deal at rate time. My driving record is a tad tainted.
I was 25 when I bought my S in 05, an 01 with 6k miles, 26K paid in full. I was military too and USAA is by far the best and cheapest insurance ever. Claims were dealt with so fast it was ridiculous lol. I was paying $550 a month for full covarage on my S, my bike and my apartment. I'm with safeco now and pay $800 a year for just my S, full covarage w/ roadside, rental and all the perks.

Actually $3000 is one of the cheaper rates, Im paying generally lower than most people my age. We get raped without the lube up here in Ontario
. Quebec has it great though, on average less than $1000 a year. The s2000 believe it or not, is one of the cheaper cars to insure in Ontario Canada. There are a few factors, I forget them all though. A Honda Prelude or Honda Civic though, for me would be well over $3000.$3000 a year towards a house down payment? That would take more than a few years to save up
. Where I live the average price of a home is $350,000+
