Does anyone know what changes were made to the S2k from the Japanese market to the US market in terms of detuning? The S2K makes 250 hp over there. I've read it is due to emissions regulations, but I don't know what was done. If we can find out, this will probably be the cheapest 10 hp gain mod out there. Don't get me wrong, I am a "green" guy, but the S2K is VERY low emission, I think it would pass inspection just fine without the extra clean mod.

Yes, and that compression ratio is gained through a thinner head gasket. I hear of some peoeple who tried to use a thinner gasket, but I don't know if that worked for anyone...

My guess is that you would need the JDM headgasket, the ECU and 100RON to get those extra 10PS...

Hi. this is my first post since H-A net.
A recent article on a local tuner magazine called "Hot 4s" had a journo visit Js racing in Japan. Jun, the company founder apparently has his daily driver yellow s2k tuned to 230kW or 309hp without forced induction - only exhaust, new camshafts, ecu etc. - evidently increasing the compression to 13.8:1 with max power achieved at 9400! It feeds on "racing fuel", presumably even higher octane rating than 100RON !! Would be interesting to know whether these parts can be sourced to be fitted on our cars.
