rumors based on nothing other than conjecture, speculation, hope and pure, unadulterated, good old American style bullcrap.

How many times are we going to see this junk?

"My brother's sister's cousin knows this girl who knows this guy that used to work with a cousin of the niece of a friend who worked at baskin robbins that said.... fill in crap here." apologies to Ferris Bueler's Day Off but come on guys.

No flames intended on those that post these things but nothing, I repeat nothing is rumor until it is in the form of an official announcement, brochure, or press release from Honda.

Even if there was such a thing and it was ivtec. Ivtec optimizes flow throughout the power band, it will not improve peak HP numbers.

Maybe the RM exhaust is now standard on the JDM version.

Sound more like a rummor. Now seriously, Remember the JDM makes 250ps (247HP???) so that would be another 10-13 PS/HP if they are not mixing PS with HP. I would expect more from a redesign of the engine.

Also, iVTEC would require some cylinder head redesign for fitment of the timing mechanism on the cams. More cost and another thing Honda doesn't usually do in the middle of production, less on a limited production car.

Displacement changes? That could be the ticket. A 2.2-liter could provide this kind of boost without major work involved. Like it was done on the NSX (from 3 to 3.2 liter).

Rebadge Acura V6 S2000? Now that's a rumor.

Don't think 260 hp will happen. However a rebadged Acura version of the S2k could. I would really like to see Acura build a straight not V, 6 of say 3.2 litres and iVTEC good for 330 hp.
Remember that none of Acuras current V6's are built for rear wheel drive, may as well start fresh with a proper I-6.

I think it would have been damn cool if the S2000 had the inline-5 that the show car had.

I don't see any reason why Honda would retool the car for 260 HP. What's the advantage? They have already clearly won the price/performance contest. I just don't see it happening.

I also don't see Acura having an S2000. They have the RSX Type S and the NSX.

All wishful thinking.
