The show car had a V5 not an inline 5.

Remember that none of Acuras current V6's are built for rear wheel drive, may as well start fresh with a proper I-6.
Please remember this when speaking/writing in public (could be embarassing otherwise).
Acura builds NOTHING. Acura is Honda. Or more precisely, Honda IS Acura. Acura is a figment of North Americans imaginations.

What mechanical genius invented the V5? I would pay to see a working V5.

Keep in mind that the JDM model has 250ps. So, 260 is not a big stretch. Maybe just a retuned header and exhaust? However, a tuned iVTEC engine that provides just 10hp more power but more lower end torque would not be a bad idea. Especially, if they made it lighter - say 2500 lbs?

Is the engine in the RSX so different from the S2000 that the iVTEC stuff could not be transplanted?

I don't think we'd see another or acura convertible especially since it's all honda everywhere else. It would be bad marketing. IMO

They are gonna have to do something because the JDM Integra Type R with its 2.0 liter IVTEC and 220HP is a 14.3 secs 1/4 car according to HONDA...0 to 60 in less than 6 secs...The RSX-S is getting 6.1 secs and 14.8 1/4 times...The S2000 has got to break the 5 sec barrier and 260HP and IVTEC and 17 inch rims and tires will do it.

The Integra Type R has 215/45ZR17 tires! Even the Civic Type R has 205/45ZR17 tires.....why come the S2000 is still running on wimpy 16 inch rims and tires?

I highly doubt just twenty more horses wil shave over half a second off the 0-60. But, you can always dream...
