if you want better gas mileage, then leave the S in the garage and dont drive it

 

On a recent trip of ~1500 miles, I was right around 27-28 mpg average. I decided to check the average since topping off the tank is problematic compared to other cars (weird shape of the tank or venting issues?). I seemed to get over 30mpg on a different trip one time but that could be explained by an over fill followed by an underfill. I should point out that my trips are typically with the cruise set at 80 mph.

In town, mileage varies from 19-22, depending on temperature (longer cold running on a rich mixture) and how often I put my foot down to hear the symphony...

 

Best is 27, worst is 18. Obviously it also depends on how much driving you do with the top up or down.

 

Obviously, once it's broken in AND he discovers that the throttle is really on on/off switch, his mileage will be where ours is.
