Anyone getting lousy gas mileage?
My s2k is about 2 months old, with 3500 miles on it
I've put in 2 qts of oil in that time (which I check regularly)
and i'm only getting like 17mpg...
I don't beat it THAT badly....
but is anyone else getting this terrible mileage?

The mileage will vary heavily based upon your driving style. If you're in VTEC much of the time it will have a significant impact on your mileage. On the street I get between 20 and 25 per gallon. At the racetrack I get between 7 and 9.
And where you drive.. you get stuck at some of those Long Island red lights for long periods and the zero mpg for that period pulls the average down.. and every time you get going again it is in the gear that is worst for milage. If I have a tank of only in-city driving my mileage is as low as 16 - 17.
I've been surprised by how good my gas mileage has been. My car only has 1000 miles on it, and I've get to get below 24. My last tank I got 26, despite lots of Vtecing and several bursts to over 100 mph. Usually cars get better mileage as the engines loosen up. Go figure.

I kept a total average during my first 1200 miles, and I got 27 MPG overall. Good mix of highway and town.
After that I quit keeping track because I found myself trying to get good gas mileage, and it was spoiling my own fun. I found myself upshifting like I was driving a "normal" car, and decided it had to stop.
Now I intentionally keep the revs over 3000 RPM (always shift at 4000 or more, shifting at 4000 drops back almost exactly to 3000 RPM in each gear). If I'm cruising, I determine the gear by MPH (3rd for 30's, 4th for 40's, etc.)
I know I'm still getting good mileage when I check it (on a hard-driving day trip I got about 30 MPG without trying), but I don't drive for mileage at all anymore.
