Smile $294 Speeding Ticket!

Well I got my first speeding ticket in my 06 s2000. Was doing 85 in a 65 unbeknown to me because it looked like 65 at night. Ok i'm lying but at 1am in the morning can u blame me. Anyways, I was just curious as to other owner's experiences in the car and do you feel that you are targeted more so than others for driving this car. I had the top down, was overtaking a truck on a downward sloped curve. I'm fighting the ticket of course but still, $294 is pretty steep. For that price, they might as well arrested me and took the car away or something!

I've found that late at night it is easy for the cops to flip the radar on right as you approach and then it's too late. Of course, a radar detector couldn't hurt. Here in Maryland they seem to mainly use laser, so none of it helps

And as for being targeted more by cops, I would say no. But, I have Silverstone...which sort of blends in with most highways, and does not stick out like a sore thumb as does New Formula Red and Rio/Spa Yellow. Sebring should be no different.

The way I do it is I will only speed badly if I have taken the route I am on 15-20 times at the particular time of day....because then I know where the cops will be if they are around at all. This may seem conservative, but I don't like speeding tickets.

woo Kansas City!!!!

i got the stupidest speeding ticket ever the other day, on Ward Parkway coming towards The Plaza.

I was in my EG coming around a long left turn and was passing a big vehicle i was following behind for awhile. i passed the car throught the turn, going the normal speed for this road, it is posted as 35 but everyone does atleast 45.

right after i got around the corner i saw 2 cops standing on the left side of the road (it is a one way 4 lane road), one with a radar gun in hand pointing it at me Charlies Angel's style and then the other one just walked out into my lane and put his hand up in the air. I almost had it in me to downshift and run his ass over just due to the stupidity of the situation.

he just walked in front of me and flagged me down to go to the far left turn exit, which can't be very safe. apparently i was doing 55 in a 35 which is probably true. I asked them how much it will be and they said they will mail it to me and it is based on my driving record, ok, that is stupid also, that was probably a month ago and i am still yet to recieve any ticket in the mail.

oh, and I have an S2000 engine start button in my EG and one of them had the nerve to say hey is that an engine start button , does it actually work or did you just put it in there, i said yeah it works, and he said "hey *whatever cop 2's name was*" check this out. i just drove off.

i feel less targeted in the S as opposed to my 94 hatch i sold to buy it. I got pulled over in that all the time. Ive had the S for a month and a half, drove from PA were i bought it to NE were i live without plates on and never got pulled over. I then drove to Tacoma and back and never got pulled over on that trip. But thats just my experience, with it so far.

Maybe the only reason you were "targeted" was because you were doing 85 in a 65.

This is a letter of Adjudication:

You would file this with the Clerk of courts IN THE AREA YOU GOT THE TICKET (traffic court were you pay the fine at)
You want the judge to WITHHOLD ADJUDICATION!!!!!! This is very important!!!!!!!
Attach a letter of statement of what transpired before and during the situation including weather conditions road conditions, traffic and alike. DO NOT ADMIT GUILT!!!!!
Next were it says circle one 1,2,3,4.
