I understand that, but i'm saying it doesn't make sense to me for a few reasons. First off, anything above 500whp, good luck getting it to the ground, and second by the time you factor in the cost of doing the swap and all the labor you could have built your bottom end to make insane power. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Those of you saying it would be cheaper than a turbo-kit for the S . . . true, but don't forget this thing is probably requiring some kind of diff technics swap of some kind that is probably several thousand dollars on its own just to keep the rear-end from falling apart.

That being said, if cost was not a factor I think this would be insanely awesome . . . at least for the straight line. The 2jz is an insanely cool motor and put into a drop top package like the S . . . fun stuff.

Also, Toyota was one of the only manufacturers who had both V6 and Inline 6 engine families. The Inline 6 was only used in RWD applications, but the V6 is easier to package.

After installing an AEM V2, I can see where there is plenty of space for a longer engine. Too bad Honda never made an F30C

 

I'd like to see a 13b rotary motor (turbo or na don't care) swapped into an S. If the 2jz can be done I'm sure that can. I saw it in a 350z online once and a vid of it being dynoed. I know they are really tricky motors but i've always had a soft spot for the rx7.

 

I was seriously considering buying a Supra before the S, but after looking for a year without finding one for decent condition under $25k I just decided to get my next favorite. Mission accomplished and I'm happy with the decision.

 

Looks like they had to cut the big engine compartment reinforcement brace out to clear the engine and accessory drive. Not the best idea for chassis rigidity.
