I thought that the grind between first and second was supposed to be fixed on the 2001 models. I have a 2001 that grinds just a little every time I shift into second at anything over about 8500 RPM's. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Bah, nobody should be forced to shift slower. I say live with it, still drive it hard, and monitor the noise, once it gets bad go straight to the dealership and SHOW them the grind, make a service manager ride with you and shift at 8500.

 

I seriously doubt there is any model year differentiation in most components. The transmission is likely the same but sometime in production revised parts were phased in. Since the transmission grind is a
