it happened for a total of 10 times in my 03 s2k thru these past 3 months...
I have already made sure the clutch is all the way in... still i get the gear gring from 1st to 2nd when i shift...
i was shifting at 4k or 5k rpm... car was warm all times.. odo is at 4500km

anyone knows why?? do i need to do a TSB on the tranny even it's a 2003 car?

I know it isn't much, but I've driven 3 different S2000's now, a 2003, a 2002, and my 2000. Other than the shift knobs, they all pretty much well shift the same. I don't know if that's a good thing considering the 2003 had like 2000 kms on it and the second gear didn't like shifting any better than my 2000 with 60,000 kms.

edit:

Oh yeah, my advice, right!

Seriously, the S2000's tranny reminds me of driving a Talon, just shift a little slower, a little more gentle. Caress it, tell it that you will hold it close, kiss all the grind away.

try changing out the fluid with GM Synchromesh friction modified. it supposedly makes your shifts feel like slicing through butter. if you don't have access to it, honda mtf is fine. i believe your tranny fluid is just dirty from the breakin process(lets hope so).

if it doesnt work, definatley get it checked out at the dealership. atleast do it while you got warranty.

get it taken care of soon...i had the same problem, then i had the tranny fluid changed...went away, but eventually came back and i just decided to live with it until it got to the point of being ridiculous!

Here is what i wrote in another thread....

[QUOTE]Well, I have an 02 w/ 30K on it. I had the clutch/flywheel/pp replaced (all oem parts) at about 25K.
