350z and s2000
I love Zs and have owned quite a few (Mostly S30s, Z31, Z32) - but no Z33s. Like everyone else said, the S2000 is lighter, more agile and less practical than the Z. That said, if you can live with a little less room and a little more noise, its far more rewarding. A supercharger/turbocharger will remedy the "power issue" real quick, and IMO the S2000 looks and feels much better than the Z33.
i say unless you have another car, the 350 is more practicall, but if you have other cars, the s will be more fun.
remember niether car is a straight line warrior, but if you are more into the straights go with the 350, if you enjoy a nice run through the twisties go for the s.
really its your decision and you have to look at your life, which is more practical for you, they are both tons of fun

Wildandcrayzy hits the points.
I had both the 350z coupe (04) and 350z roadster (05). I was so surprised when I parked the cars in the garage. I have way more room with the S.
The fun factor goes to the S. The interior design of the S makes it unique. Both of the cars are fast so it makes it a really driver's race.
The S is more rare. At times, I have seen 3-4 Z at the same intersection.
Are you a member of my350z?

The practicality factor belongs with the Z. The S is truly a single purpose vehicle that has zero purpose other than a car that needs to be driven. An expensive but capable toy as others have described it and probaby as close to an accurate description as we can get. If I were you I'd get the S but I'm also biased. Perhaps you should take a little time and think this thing through before you trade. It is always possibe that you could be dissapointed.
In any case, this topic is

There are tons of threads comparing the two. It really comes down to driving both, seeing them in person and seeing which fits your needs/preferences best. I could care less how much more "practical" some people think the Z is. The S is my DD.

I'd like to see some actual dimensions to back this up...the Viper certainly looks alot bigger to me

Looks can be deceiving, the Viper has lines designed to make it look larger and more aggressive than it is. The rear is about 2" wider on the Viper but then again you can stuff 335/30 underneath it so it better be wider than the S.
WAIT! I just remembered I posted on GRM about this. Here's the thread and the pics.

I also have pics of the S and Z side by side, but they aren't online anywhere.
The first person meant the S felt much quicker in the corners and the second person meant slower off VTEC.
If you get an automatic you should be shot and then drawn and quartered. Better yet get a Crown Vic.

I was thinking the same thing so I looked up the dimensions and here's the results. Not sure what year they were for but I'm guessing all years would be pretty close.
